Whistleblowers are often a Nation’s first line of defense from fraud, waste, and abuse. In many cases, particularly within the intelligence community (IC), they may be the only line of defense as the misdeeds of the government are often cloaked behind the veil of classification and secrecy. As a former IC whistleblower, myself, I understand the risks they make for themselves and their family when they decide to expose government corruption. The potential loss of income, livelihood, freedom, and even life, is not a matter to take lightly, which is why so few follow through with it. If elected, I will dedicate myself to protecting whistleblowers, by creating a safer environment for them, to encourage and ensure these brave patriots continue to be willing to come forward.
